Messi vs Ronaldo in El Clasico
Tomorrow brings us one of the highlights of the football season as Real Madrid take on Barcelona in El Clasico. And this is probably one of the most star-studded and highly anticipated El Clasico fixtures of all time, with the likes of Ronaldo, James Rodriguez and Benzema (but not the injured Bale) going head-to-head with Messi, Neymar and maybe even Luis Suarez who could make his competitive debut for the Catalan club.
Two of the game’s greatest ever players, four of the five most expensive players in history and the possible return of Luis Suarez. You’d be mad to miss it.
With that said, let’s look at how Messi and Ronaldo have fared in El Clasico games so far in their careers. The BBC have put together an interesting article on this El Clasico fixture and have included a small infographic comparing the stats of Leo and CR7.
It’s evident that Messi and Barcelona hold the upper hand thus far, but with Ronaldo’s spectacular start to the season (20 goals in 13 games at the time of writing) it would take a brave man to back against him in tomorrow’s game, especially with it being at the Bernabeu.
Let’s hope the match lives up to its billing.
